DCSTM Leading GBV&F campaign in Madibeng
Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is currently leading the Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBV&F) in Maboloka in the Madibeng Municipality.
This started early this morning at the Maboloka Taxi rank, where the Department and JCPS stakeholders engaging public transport commuters and communities in general prior to the GBV&F dialogue at Roman Catholic Church in Maboloka.
This is one of the Department’s efforts to decisively deal with the concerning rate of Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), in the North West Province.
Today is the day one of the two-day campaign, starting with the dialogue which is targeting men to discuss the courses of violence and its effects. This is further to encourage men and communities at large to report Gender based violence cases.
Young people, men and women as well as adults, are currently gathered at the dialogue where stakeholders of the Justice Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) cluster are also engaging and educate the community on the causes and impact of GBVF in society. This area is one of areas where there has been an increasing high number of cases reported to stem from violence and conflict at taverns and pubs.
The campaign will continue tomorrow at Letlhabile Community Hall.
