The Risk and Integrity Management Directorate embarked on empowering Bojanala District employees about ethics in the public service. The workshop was held at Rustenburg Traffic Station.
Ms Kgalelelo Molebiemang, Ethics and Integrity Manager outlined the exercise as it is to ilucidate the Public Service Regulations 2016, regulation 11 to 24 and also Public Service Act, Section 30 and 31.
Workplace professionalism is guided by laws and regulations that bind the employee and the employer in their conduct on a day to day relationship basis.
Application of doing other remunerative work outside organs of state must be submitted and approved by the Head Of Department. Officials were advised that accepting gifts or donations from private entities are to declare them to the ethics and integrity management office.
The Public Service Act is the one that guides and passes the laws to illuminate behaviour and professionalism in the workplace and legalities that risen from the acts.
Unethical behaviour is a risk in the workplace, it affects the day to day business and the economical force at large.
