Road Safety Scholar Patrol Ambassadors Inducted in Mahikeng
Mahikeng, 03 July 2025
The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management officially inducted the Ngaka Modiri Molema cohort of Scholar Patrol Ambassadors in Montshioa today.
The event, held at the Montshioa Provincial Traffic offices brought together learners, government officials, and road safety stakeholders in a vibrant celebration of youth-led change. The Scholar Patrol Programme equips young people with the knowledge and discipline to promote safe pedestrian behaviour around school areas, which is a critical intervention in eradicating road accidents involving learners.
Delivering the presentation of the induction, the Road Safety Management Deputy Director Ms Valencia Jonathan emphasized the life-saving importance of this initiative to the incoming Scholar Patrol Ambassadors.
“It is your duty and very important as an ambassador to help learners cross the road safely to and from school, at allocated times and locations,” she said.
As the district continues to tackle road safety challenges, today’s induction marked a pivotal step toward safer schooling environments. The initiative is driven by the energy and leadership of the youth erom across the District.
The induction was the last lap of scheduled activities, covering all 140 contracted Ambassadors in the Province.
