MEC MORWENG APPLAUDS POLICE FOR KANANA TARVEN SHOOTINGS ARRESTS
The North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Wessels Morweng has applauded the police for the successful investigation and eventual arrests of suspects following the Kanana tarven shootings.
Fourteen months ago MEC Morweng visited one of the taverns where there was a random shootings in Kanana outside Orkney where 23 people were shot at and seven reportedly died on the scene with two in hospital.
MEC Morweng was on an oversight visit to the newly built Kanana Police Station as part of the Thuntsha Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Programme in Matlosana Municipality.
MEC committed to the station management that he will continue engage the Provincial Management and the Police Minister to mobilize resources for stations around the province as challenges are similar and raised at every oversight.
