Dcstm Engagements with scholar transport operators

The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management has been having engagements with scholar transport operators. The engagements are aimed at ensuring operators comply with the service level agreement as highlighted by the recently released Human Rights Commission report on scholar transport. The meetings led by the HOD, Dr Hans Kekana and other senior managers, have already taken place in Bojanala and Ngaka Modiri Molema. Engagements with other districts will be held soon. Amongst others, the operators have raised issues that include delay in obtaining permits, registration of vehicles and delay in payments. The Department will continue to engage operators as part of ensuring anomalies experienced in the provision of this service are addressed.
