Departmental Administrative Professionals (Secretaries) celebrated.
As the primary contact for internal and external guests, adminstrative professionals uphold the Batho Pele (“People First”) principles, ensuring that public enquiries are handled professionally. In addition their importance are seen as responsible for the recording, storage, and retrieval of critical data and correspondence that inform departmental decisions.
The Gender Focal Point and Diversity Management sub- Directorate led a vibrant celebration for the departmental administrativeprofessionals, marking Transformation Administrative Professionals Day. This initiative was far more than a day of leisure and a strategic move to promote equality, recognition, and inclusion within the workforce.
Speaking at the event, Assistant Director forGender Focal Point and Diversity Management, Ms. Kearebetswe Lephoi emphasised that formal recognition within the workplace is the ultimate gateway to employee empowerment. She highlighted that acknowledging the vital contributions of staff serves as a powerful motivator, inspiring everyone to work with renewed vigour towards achieving our departmental goals. She further reaffirm that their professionalism is the foundation upon which the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is built.
In a powerful executive address, Chief Director of Transport Operations, Mr. Patrick Mohono, reemphasised the critical role admin professionals play as the heartbeat of the department. He lauded their significant contribution to organisational efficiency, specifically acknowledging that these professionals often navigate strenuous and stressful environments to keep our operations on track. His remarks highlighted that their resilience is not just appreciated, but essential.
With high expectations to attention to detail , critical thinking and partners to strategic decision making process.“You are the backbone of organisational efficiency,” stated Mohono. “You facilitate communication between departmental management and employees within the department—a space that requires a high level of trust.”
