SAFE AND LEGAL LIVESTOCK TRANSPORTATION WORKSHOP
The Department of Community Safety Transport and Management held a safe and legal livestock transportation workshop initiated by Crime Prevention Partnerships Directorate, which took place in the Bojanala District Municipality.
In the North West, a rural province, with stuttering raise of stock theft reported in the quarterly crime statistics. The workshop served as a platform to educate traffic officials as the bridge between theft and accountability by intercepting the chain of stock theft transportation.
Deputy Director for Crime Prevention and Partnership Mr Aubrey Titi reiterated burning issues mitigated by the National Rural Safety Strategy and further emphasised the workshop as the foundation to ensure safety and prevention of stock theft.
“We have experts to share knowledge, ideas and insights, exposing us to new information to be well equipped within various fields of stock theft, this information will help in identifying stolen stock,” said Mr Titi.
