MEC WESSELS MORWENG AND MAJOR GENERAL (Dr) RYNO NAIDOO INVITE MEDIA TO THE RELEASE 2025/2026 FOURTH QUARTER CRIME STATISTICS

The North West MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Wessels Morweng and the Acting Provincial Commissioner for North West, Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo, invite the media to the release of the of the 2025/2026 Fourth Quarter Crime Statistics.

These are quantitative figures reported at all eighty-six (86) Police Stations and twenty-three (23) Mobile Police Stations in the four Districts between January and March 2026. For the Quarter, assault with the intent to inflict grievous bodily harm is recorded as the third highest in the country following KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape. However, the Province has recorded significant decrease in other serious crime categories.

Both MEC Wessels Morweng and Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo will take the media into confidence on plans to deal with these crime patterns.
