Head of the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Dr Hans Kekana has applauded the joint law enforcement operation for their hardwork and commitment in ensuring compliance, with the law and safety of the citizens.
This, he said when addressing a parade after the operation that was conducted this morning as part of activities of Thuntsha Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Programme at Poosedumane Village in the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality.
The law enforcement and officials of the Department engaged with motorists on road safety matters and encouraged them to comply and cooperate on the road.
“We don’t normally appreciate your good work that you continue to do on a daily basis, however, it is important to do so whenever we get an opportunity because you are playing a huge role in our endeavour to implement MEC policy statement, which in this case is to ensure safety of our communities and effective transport system in the Province,” he said.
Later on the day, MEC Sello Lehari will sign a financial support Memorandum of Understanding with the taxi industry, which will take place at Gopane Tribal Office here in Lehurutshe.
