TWO PEOPLE DIED IN A HORIFFIC ACCIDENT NEAR GANYESA


Two people, a taxi driver and a passenger lost their lives while 18 were taken to Ganyesa District Hospital after a horiffic accident that happend last night (Saturday) on the R378 road near Ganyesa on the direction to Morokweng.

According to traffic officers at the scene, a Toyota Hilux bakkie collided with a stray animal (cow) that led colition with another car which was a Quantum taxi that lost control and landed on its side.

MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management Wessels Morweng have urged community members to look after their lifestock as the accidents caused by the animals is on the increase.

“My plea is for our community to make sure that their lifestock are kept in their safe areas especialy during the night as our villages are very dark at night and the visibility is very poor,” said MEC Morweng.

Eighteen (18) of those who were taken to hospital, 05 were critical while the rest have no serious injuries.

MEC Morweng have send message of condolences to the families of the deceased and wished speedy recovery to those who were taken to hospital.
