The 2024 Disability Rights Awareness Month (DRAM)
This year’s DRAM will be observed under the theme “Disability-Inclusive Society For a Better Quality of Life and Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” from the 3 rd of November – 3 rd December 2024.
The long-month campaign reaffirms the universality, interdependence and fundamental human rights of persons with disabilities that guarantee full enjoyment without discrimination and also the need to promote awareness, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities across South Africa.
Furthermore, the Government calls on all members of society to participate in the landmark process of the domestication of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities facilitated by the South African Law Reform Commission, which will yield to the Disability Rights Bill, link: [LINKSHIELD PROTECTED] www.justice.gov.za/salrc/dpapers/dp163-prj148-UNCRPD.pdf
