National Macro-organising of Government (NMOG).

2024 National and Provincial elections delivered the Government of National Unity (GNU) into the 7th Administration. The GNU presents new areas and changes to various governmentportfolios as per the Presidents Opening of Parliament speech delivered on 18 July 2024 . There is a need for government to abolish some portfolios and some departments while others will have to be separated to deliver effective and efficient government services. This process is known as the National Macro-organising of Government (NMOG).

Changes to the configuration of executive portfolios and departments, in the 7th Administration, are necessary for the following reasons:
◾ The National Development Plan articulates the vision of a developmental state that requires building state capacity as an important step to achievea developmental state.
◾ The clustering of homogeneous or related functions to ensure that functional areas of responsibility are demarcated to avoid ambiguity, overlapping,or duplication of functions.
◾ Promote synergy within ministerial portfolios and institutions responsible for broad policy outcomes to realize value for citizens.
◾ Promote accountability for the delivery of outcomes.
