Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District Commemorate Easter with Unity and Reflection

The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, in collaboration with sister departments, hosted a meaningful Interdepartmental Easter Service in Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District. The purpose of the occasion is to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, expressed gratitude for salvation, and renewed spiritual commitment.

Chaplains from various departments and municipalities shared a powerful message through the “Via Doloroza” and the 7 Words of the Cross. Mr. Motlhasedi from Correctional Services delivered a thought-provoking sermon, highlighting the importance of surrendering one’s struggles to a higher power, citing Jesus’ words, “We are living in the era where children abuse parents, marriage fails and people kill each other, with that being said Jesus cried out loud, ‘Father into your hands, I commend my spirit.’ Jesus said this as he was giving all his pains and challenges to the Almighty to take charge” said Chaplain.

Departments participated in the celebration included the Department of National Defence Force (SANDF), Department of Health, JB Marks Municipality, South African Police Service(SAPS), and Correctional Services. This Easter celebration aimed at promoting unity, faith, and spiritual renewal, reaffirming shared values and principles.
