2024/2025 3rd Quarter Review Performance
As the third quarter draws to a close, the Senior Managers of Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, under the astute leadership of Head of Department Dr. Hans Kekana, convened a strategic review session at Ngaka Modiri Molema.
This deliberative meeting provided a critical opportunity for the department to conduct a comprehensive appraisal of its progress, achievements, and areas necessitating improvement, thereby informing the development of strategic objectives and actionable plans for the forthcoming Quarter 4.
Dr. Hans Kekana led the proceedings by expressing his appreciation for the diligent efforts of the Road Safety Management and Road Traffic Management teams, whose collaborative endeavors ensured the successful implementation of the Safer Festive Season Road Safety Campaign.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in successfully addressing the illicit mining activities in Stilfontein. “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Chief Director, Rre Morule and his team for their tireless dedication during the festive season in significantly ensuring the visibility of traffic officers and adherence to road safety protocols.
Dr Kekana emphasized the importance of active participation and devoted engagement from senior managers throughout the meeting to ensure accuracy of the report,
By doing so, the department would be able to achieve the predetermined objectives agreed upon by different directorates. “This is our first meeting of the year 2025, let us collectively commit to embarking on this journey with unwavering enthusiasm and dedication and ensuring that we attain the goals we agreed on”, He said.
In his closing remarks, the Head of Department underscored the notable improvement in the Department’s performance report, expressing his sincere appreciation to colleagues for their unwavering dedication, active engagement and unrelenting efforts throughout the quarter. “We have done well, this is an improvement to all spheres of our work. The most important thing for each and every one of us at this level is to know and understand the vision, mission and deliverables of this department so that we are able to explain to others how this department functions. In that way, we are able to appreciate the work that we do.
Acting Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of North West Transport Investment (NTI), Dr Ntlhopeng Dikobe facilitated the session . The primary objective of the strategic meeting is to facilitate effective alignment and adherence to the Annual Performance Plan (APP) among senior managers.
