BOJANALA WOMEN IN LAW ENFORCEMENT VISITS REYAKGONA OLD AGE IN LETLHABILE

Women in Law Enforcement within the Bojanala District participated in a social responsibility initiative at Reyakgona Old Age Centre. The initiative forms part of their Women’s Month activities to reachout to communities and supporting vulnerable members of society.

During the visit, officers interacted with the elderly residents at the centre and showed their appreciation and care through meaningful contributions to the centre.

Having identified needs at the centre prior to the visit, the women in beige uniform donated a deep freezer as well as toiletries for the centre’s residents.

The donation of the freezer was aimed at assisting the centre with the proper storage and preservation of food, thereby contributing towards the smooth day-to-day running of the facility. The toiletries were also intended to support the personal care and well-being of the elderly residents.

The Bojanala Law Enforcement District Manager Control Dimakatso Madoda said the initiative demonstrates that Women’s Month is not only a time to celebrate the achievements and contribution of women, but also an opportunity for women to extend compassion, leadership and support to their communities.

“Through this social responsibility programme, we made a positive contribution towards improving the well-being of residents at Reyakgona Old Age Centre.
We will continue the legacy of the 1956 women who marched to the Union Building and, with us this through our outreach programmes and most importantly stamping authority on our road to save lives,’ said Control Madoda.

Number of women led operations focusing amonths others, drunken driving, compliance on vehicle and drivers, road safety campaigns and outreach programmes are scheduled to take place for the remaining days of the month.
