Current road status-Lichtenburg update

1. R503 Coligny Road – OPEN
Traffic flowing again. Agrico/Toyota area that was closed earlier is now open.

2. R52 Sannieshof Road – OPEN
Boikhutso crossing remains open. Route to Sannieshof and Mafikeng accessible.

3. R505 Ottosdal Road – UNCERTAIN
Still waiting for confirmation if Blydeville crossing is open + safe.

Important – even though roads are open:
– People and children still standing next to routes. Be extra careful, especially at dusk. They can run into the road unpredictably.
– Neighbourhood Watch doing patrols – that’s why traffic is flowing now. Situation can change quickly if they pull back.
– Drive slowly + alert. Don’t stop for people waving/signaling you.

Safest routes currently in/out of Lichtenburg:
1. R52 to Mafikeng – open and calm
2. R52 to Sannieshof – open
3. N14 to Biesiesvlei – was open all day
4. R503 to Coligny – open, but stay alert past Agrico/Toyota

Avoid R505 Ottosdal until we hear it’s 100% open + safe.

SAPS/Neighbourhood Watch will let us know if the situation changes. In the meantime: Keep windows closed, doors locked. Don’t drive after dark if you can avoid it – 17:40 means dusk is setting in over Lichtenburg.
