The Crime Prevention Partnerships Directorate in collaboration with the South African Police Service and other key stakeholders has embarked on a series of activities, such as clearing of bushes, replacing street-light globes and house numbering.
This is done through the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) programme, which aims to reduce the causes and opportunities for, criminal events and to address the fear of crime by applying practical planning, design and management principles to the built environment.
Today, the activity was taken to the community of Geluksoord (Extension 4) in Christiana and will continue tomorrow in Huhudi township outside Vryburg.
