DCSTM pays tribute to SPI Ratsopa David Selogiloe

Lehurutshe – Department of Community Safety together with Ramotshere Moiloa Traffic officials gathered to pay a heartfelt tribute to the late Ratsopa David Selogiloe who served as Senior Provincial Inspector (SPI) at Lehurutshe Traffic Station. Colleagues, friends and family celebrated his life in unison by sharing cherished memories and songs of praise that resonated with his spirit.
SPI Selogiloe was remembered for his unwavering dedication to his work and his passion for serving the community with pride. His colleagues recalled his diligence and commitment to excellence, which earned him a reputation as a respected and admired leader in Traffic Department.
Representing the Department, Chief Director for Transport Regulations Mr. Molefi Morule reflected on the legacy of SPI Selogiloe with encouraging words. “As we stand here today, let us pause and reflect on the path we have chosen. SPI Selogiloe has blazed a trail for us to follow and it is time to ask ourselves, what lessons did we learn from this fallen giant?”, he said.
Furthermore he urged colleagues to strive for excellence whilst they are still alive “In a world where numbers often overshadow substance, SPI Selogiloe reminds us that it’s not about being just another face in the crowd, but about being a beacon of excellence. He was more than just a statistic, he was a shining example of what it means to live with purpose and passion,” Mr Morule stated.
SPI Selogiloe served the department diligently for over 10 years before his untimely passing. He will be laid to rest Saturday 27 September 2025, at his home in Makhubung, Mafikeng.
