DEPARTMENTAL INDUCTION FOR NEWLY APPOINTED OFFICIALS

Department of Community Safety and Transport Management welcomed its newest recruits from various directorates with open arms by hosting a successful 2 days Departmental Induction which was spearheaded by Deputy Director for Human Resource Utilisation and Capacity Development Mr Kalodi Mogotsi.
The induction was a jam-packed masterclass in equipping new officials with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles. There were representatives across various directorates such as Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Ethics and Integrity, Gender Focal Point and Diversity, Transport Operations and Secretariat for Police Services.
The new recruits were treated to a deep dive into the department’s Constitutional Mandate, Legislative and Policy Mandate as well as valuable insights into employee health and wellness programs, conditions of employment, service benefits and procedures for payments and claims. The team also explored the importance of the Public Code of Conduct, ensuring that the new officials understood the gravity of their roles as public servants.
In his closing remarks, Mr Mogotsi emphasized the importance of serving the public with dedication and high-quality service, stating, “As public servants, it is crucial that we respond to the needs of the public with utmost efficiency and effectiveness,” he stressed.
The induction marked an important milestone in the onboarding process of setting the stage for the new officials to contribute meaningfully to the department’s objectives.
