Departmental Payroll, Debts and petty cash management policy Workshops in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District

Budget Management Directorate took upon itself to conducted a series of workshops on the new reviewed policy of Payroll, debt and petty cash management.

The workshops kick started on the 21st October 2024 in DR Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and it will continue to take place to other districts. Mr Malose Manganye started with his presentation about the payroll management policy and he explained that, “The policy review aims to enhance compliance, efficiency, and employee understanding when it come to payroll management in the Department.

He sensitised officials on the policy’s contents, focusing on key aspects and changes. Additionally, the sessions addressed Electronic Document Delivery of salary advices (EDD) which was implemented in April 2024.

“This workshop is aimed in ensuring that employees are able to comprehend their roles when it comes to payroll management and EDD,” said Mr Manganye.

Manganye further said that promoting mutual consultation and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

Ms Motshwari Lecogo responsibile for Petty cash added that the workshop purpose is to provide a platform for employees to seek clarification on petty policy related issues and address concerns specifically tailored to the needs of employees

From Debt management Mr Katlego Keaikitse alluded that “The objective of these workshop is to educate employees on Debt management procedures and responsibilities, ensure compliance with the policy and regulatory requirements and also to reduce staff debts and minimise financial risks when they retire”.

Employees were urged to follow the terms and conditions of the policies

Employees were encouraged again to actively participate and engage with the policy to ensure seamless
participation in their implementation.
