DRIVER SKILLS ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME IN BOJANALA

The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management hosted a Driver Enhancement Skills Workshop in Bojanala District to improve driver behaviour and learner safety.
Assistant Director Mr Edwin Letshwiti said the programme is a proactive step to address safety gaps in scholar transport and restore public trust following recent road fatalities.

MasterDrive facilitator Mr Kopano Mpipi urged drivers to stay fully focused behind the wheel and to let go of the “right of way” mindset.
“Go only when it is safe to do so,” he said, warning that alcohol impairs reaction time while creating false confidence.
Drivers also took part in hands-on activities with the Reaction Machine, Seatbelt Convincer and Drunk Buster Goggles, led by Mr Mpipi, Ms Sandra Sibanda and Mr Roche du Plessis.
