DRKK DISTRICT ROAD SAFETY SCHOOL DEBATE
Klerksdorp:Department of Community Safety and Transport Management hosted a successful Road Safety School Debate today, in collaboration with Dr Kenneth Kaunda Municipality, Matlosana Disaster Management and Road Accident Fund
The main purpose of the debate is to instill a heightened sense of road safety and emphasize road responsibility.
Furthermore, it raises awareness and prompts learners to think critically about how planning, infrastructure and road safety are connected
Learners were debating under the motion of “Lack of Proper spatial planning is responsible for a high rate of pedestrian fatalities in South Africa.”
Schools that took part are Klerksdorp Secondary School, Poelano High School and Potchefstroom Secondary School
The Department congratulated all schools for their outstanding performance by awarding them with participation certificates and medals . Winners are as follows, 3rd position was awarded to Poelano Secondary School,2nd position went to Potchefstroom Secondary School and the winners of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District is Klerksdorp Secondary School.
