Freight Working Group meeting.

The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is currrently holding the fourth quarter Freight Working Group Meeting today in Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality.

Director for Transport Terminals, Mr Thabo Sematle laid down the foundation by outlining briefly the objective of this working group which consists of different sectors from National and Provincial government departments, private, public entities and higher learning institutions.

He further discussed the importance of fostering a multisectoral collaboration in ensuring ease of transportation of goods and individuals across the North West Provincial roads.

Amongst other factors, the department and its stakeholders in attendance covered issues relating to freight transport logistics within the Province and outlined challenges that are encountered on the movement of freight. In the engagements they were also able to come up with mitigation strategies to resolve those challenges.
