MEC MORWENG ADVOCATES FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

The North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Wessels Morweng says women continue to play an important role in shaping the department to deliver services to the communities of the Province.

Speaking at the Departments’ women’s month celebration event in Bojanala, MEC Morweng women are the backbone of the department.
“We should therefore continue advocating for them to take key leadership roles and provide a platform to amplify their voices.

Positions, for employment purposes, within the department should also be given to qualifying women already in departmental system as a gesture of empowerment and solidarity of their growth,” said MEC Morweng.

He continued with cautioning women on working against one another.

“Women tend to sabotage one another, thus causing disunity and division amongst themselves. Divide and conquer has unfortunately never worked for anyone. I therefore urge you to avoid that, and continue working on unity, fixing each other’s crowns, and building one another,” concluded MEC Morweng.
