MEC MORWENG VISITS THE FAMILY OF GUNNED POLICE OFFICER
North West Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Wessels Morweng today visited the family of the late Sergeant Fundiswa Motlhaoleng who was allegedly gunned down in Klerksdorp while on her way to work.
Sending message of condolences to the family, MEC Morweng said a loss of an officer is a big loss to the community.
“We are coming with broken hearts and saddened as government to lose a committed member, however, I’m finding comfort with the report that our investigators are getting closer to arrest the perpetrators.”
“Even though this will not bring back the life of our beloved one, but finding closure can also comfort us,” said Morweng.
According to information, the 45-year-old Motlhaoleng, who stationed at Jouberton Visible Policing, was shot by unknown suspects while in her private vehicle and on her way to work in full uniform. The incident happened at Taljaart Kruger Street, Randlespark where three empty cartridges and an ammunition were found.
Motlhaoleng’s body was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds on the right jaw and hand respectively. A black Volkswagen Polo vehicle with four occupants, was allegedly spotted driving off from the scene at a high speed.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Patrick Asaneng committed the police in ensuring the arrest of perpetrators.
