MAHIKENG: MEC Sello Lehari held important meetings with social partners, SANTACO & SANSBOC, separately, to discuss issues relating to taxies and buses in the province.
In the first meeting, MEC Lehari accompanied by Head of the Department Dr. Hans Kekana, and Chief of Staff. Adv Tebogo Motlhamme alongside other senior managers, met taxi association, SANTACO’s leadership over allocations.
Following an agreement for a R2-million annual incentive, which is being paid in four batches – the meeting deliberated for the expedited process for final payments.
In a second meeting, with bus association, SANSBOC; the focal point was on scholar transport and operators who were or are not allocated routes. The meeting also focused on how to perfect scholar transport operations , by allowing those with buseses to ferry learners to and from schools.
MEC Lehari encouraged all member-associations for more dialogues akin to these ones, to enable cordiality in the partnerships between the department and all social partners.
