MMABATHO – The MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari will be launching the new 24 hour traffic unit. This unit will be ever present henceforth on all arterial routes especially on N4, N12, N14 and N18.
The unit will patrol the congested N4 from the Brits Plaza right up to the Botswana border. They will primarily, also deal with the spiking criminality that happens often near Majakaneng.
The MEC will also be activating the 2023/2024 Road Safety Festive Season Campaign. The activities of the day will be preceded by the release of the Second Quarter Crime Statistics.
There had been over 500 cases year on year compared to the same period last year.
