NORTH WEST LEGISLATURE PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY SAFETY AND TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT TO MEET DEPARTMENT ON PROVINCIAL REGULATORY ENTITY (PRE) AND THE NORTH WEST PROVINCIAL TRANSPORT INTERVENTION TASK TEAM

The Portfolio Committee on Community Safety and Transport Management in the North West Provincial Legislature, chaired by Hon. Freddy Sonakile, will convene an oversight meeting with the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management.

The purpose of the meeting is for the Department to brief the Committee on the role, operations, challenges and successes of the Provincial Regulatory Entity (PRE), and to provide an update on the progress and activities of the North West Provincial Transport Intervention Task Team. The Department will also brief the Committee on its 2025/26 Third Quarter Performance Report, as well as the state of readiness regarding traffic safety and oversight operations for the Easter holidays.

The Committee will use this engagement to strengthen its oversight role and assess the effectiveness of these structures in regulating and improving transport operations within the province.
