The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management has noted with concern allegations of a person who calls members of the community and promise them traffic learnership opportunities in Free State.
The said individual who identifies himself as ‘Alex Montsho’, purports to be “working for traffic” and is deceptively scams unsuspecting young people especially. He allegedly promises them a “traffic learnership intake for Traffic College in Free State”.
The Department would like to warn the public of such calls, as these scammers extort money from them. Given the socioeconomic challenges, young unemployed people end to be easy prey for such brutes.
The Department wishes to put on record that it does not recruit people through telephone. Opportunities within the Department are advertised through departmental and Government website including the DPSA, established newspapers and other authenticated media platforms. Members of the public are encouraged to verify any information with the Department.
The Department appeals to members of the public to report to their nearest police stations anyone who scams.
