THE DEPARTMENT BIDS FAREWELL TO SPORTS PARTICIPANTS

Departmental Sports participants gathered at Mabatho Stadium for their special send off to the 2025 National Employee Wellness Sports and Recreation Tournament. The Department will be co-hosting with the Provincial Department of Public Works and Roads which will be held at Bojanala District in Rustenburg.
This upcoming tournament is scheduled for October 8th-11th 2025.

On behalf of Head of Department Dr Hans Kekana, Integrated Employee Health and Wellness Manager Ms. Selomane, a proxy conveyed a heartfelt message of encouragement, urging participants to embody the values of responsibility, a winning mentality and sportsmanship. “The Department wishes you well, and the hard work you’ve put in Wednesday’s practices will undoubtedly yield positive results. Despite the challenges in sports, it’s essential to demonstrate sportsmanship, and showcasing the dignity of our department,” emphasised Ms. Selomane.

The department is eager to showcase its talented employees’ capabilities, with the ultimate goal of bringing trophies home. Dr. Hans Kekana’s trophy cabinet is renowned for being never empty, and the anticipation is hoping for more accolades.
As the officials prepare to compete, the mantra “your health is your wealth” resonates, highlighting the importance of fitness and well-being in employees’ life.
The tournament will feature various sports codes, including football, tennis, golf, running, walking, netball, and volleyball.
