THE DEPARTMENTAL EXTENDED MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE ANALYSES THE 2025/2026 SECOND QUARTER PERFORMANCE.
Mahikeng – The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management Extended Departmental Management Committee (EDMC), assembled today to review its 2025/2026 second quarter performance.
Acting Chief Director for Corporate Services, Patrick Mohono, facilitated the proceedings of the day. Chief Directorates convened with the intention to fine comb through the department’s performance, and weed out obstacles that prevent the exceptional delivery of services to communities of the North West Province .
Head of Department Dr. Hans Kekana ascended the podium setting the tone. He acknowledged the presence of the team and highlighted the importance of having a smooth meeting void of any distractions. “Colleagues, let us focus on the agenda of the day and not be derailed. The presence of each and everyone of you means a lot. I wish you all a productive session ahead.”
The HoD further applauded the performance of the department at the 2025 National Employee Wellness, Sports and Recreation (NEWSR) Tournament. “I can see the beautiful trophies before us, which can only mean that the department was well represented and did well at the Tournament,” he said.
Colleagues from Office of the Premier were part of the proceedings to share and give guidance about new reporting strategies and their templates.
Emphasis was made on the importance of achieving set goals and meeting objectives for the smooth sailing of the department’s operations.
Mr Mohono, noted that there are still issues which are repetitive and he urged management to move the needle on outstanding matters that plague the department, “Let’s keep to those commitments that we have made colleagues. We are still facing some of the same challenges which we committed to resolve in the last quarterly meeting,” said Mohono.
The department moved to take recommendations from The Office of the Premier into consideration. The discussions of the day resulted in fruitful resolutions to take the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management to new heights.
