The nationwide rollout of South Africa’s AARTO commence on 1 July 2026.

The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) held an information sharing session with the department of Community Safety and Transport Management officials to confirm the state of readiness of the implementation of Administrative Adjudication and Road Traffic Offences ( AARTO).

The roll out will kick-start in the follwing North West Provincial local municipalities; City of Matlosana, JB Marks, Madibeng, Mahikeng, Rustenburg and Ditsobotla.

The rollout has been divided into a staggered, phased approach to ensure municipalities are fully prepared

The implementation comes after the pronouncement by Minister of Transport, Barbara Creecy.
